After Fine Cooking, my other favourite food publication is Bon Appetit. I find Bon Appetit can be a little too fancy for my tastes some times... harder to find ingredients, harder to make recipes, etc. I like cooking but I'm only one man!! I did get a subscription to Bon Appetit for Christmas though, and they've been cranking out some delicious looking pasta recipes lately.

I've never cooked with leeks before, but they're very good! Kind of cool to chop up too... I really love chopping things up. Might be a serial killer? As long as I stick to leeks though, I think we're all safe.
My only remarks on this is that it is delicious. Very easy to make, and pretty cheap too with the most expensive ingredient being bacon and you don't even need that much of it. If you can get a few (4-6) slices of good thick cut bacon from your local butcher or market, this won't cost you much at all. Feeds a very hungry family of 4 and freezes/refrigerates well for leftovers. Bon appetit!
