The recent news about an outbreak of measles and mumps is prompting the Grey Bruce Health Unit to put out a call for people to be vaccinated.
The health unit is suggesting parents of children over the age of 4 who have had their first measles shot to get their second one as soon as possible.
They also recommend that adults should also get a second shot if they are a health care provider, a post-secondary student, or are planning to travel to an area where disease is a concern.
It can also be given to adults based on the clinical judgement of their health care provider.
The health unit warns children attending schools in Grey Bruce may face suspension if they do not receive the necessary vaccines or if their parent can't provide a document stating their exemption or objection.
