Saugeen Shores Police are appealing to to the community for tips to help identify two male suspects who allegedly assaulted and robbed a young female.
Town Police say say the victim was walking on Market Street near Nodwell Park — between Highland and Geddes Streets — around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, when she was approached by two males and forced off the street into a wooded area.
Police say the teenaged female victim was then physically assaulted by the male suspects and her cell phone was stolen.
Saugeen Shores Police officers and the canine unit immediately searched the area upon being notified of the incident, but the suspects were not located.
Police say the two males were last seen walking west through the wooded area in the direction of Geddes Street. The female victim fled the area east, towards Parkwood Drive.
Saugeen Shores Police describe the first suspect as a young, while male about 6-foot-2 tall with a thin build, short “fluffy” brown hair and blue or green eyes. Police say he was wearing a zippered grey hoodie and a blue surgical mask.
The second suspect is described as a young white male about 5-foot-5 tall with a heavier build who walked with a limp. Town Police say he was wearing a zippered black hoodie, dirty light blue jeans with rips, a blue surgical mask and possibly an orange ball cap.
Investigators are asking residents in the area of the incident to check door bell cameras or any other surveillance device.
