There’s a new attraction this year at a popular mini-amusement park in the Owen Sound area.
Story Book Park is opening for the season on Saturday, and co-manager Hannah Greve says they’re excited to officially unveil a new spinning cars ride for families to enjoy.
Kids have to be at least 41 inches tall to be able to get on the new ride with their parents.
Greve says there are now 14 rides at Story Book Park. Animals, playgrounds, waterslides and mini-golf are among the other attractions. There’s also a restaurant, snack bar, and a park tour train to ride that circles the grounds.
She says the waterslides typically open on Father’s Day weekend, which is June 15-16 this year.
“And then they’re only open on weekends until school’s out. And once school’s out, they will be open seven days a week,” Greve adds.
Story Book Park will open its gates for the 2024 season at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The park is open on weekends to start — including the Victoria Day holiday — and then daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as of May 31 until Labour Day.
