The City of Toronto is running a campaign that has adoption fees reduced until Sunday for a number of dogs currently at the North York shelter who have bad names. This was inspired by a TikTok trend,.
The Good Dogs with Bad Names Campaign began on April 23rd and already 8 have been adopted, including Warm Buttered Yams, Na-Na, La-La, Doot-Doo, The Sea and Her Mysteries, Dijon Ketchup, Garlic Bread and Teleprompter.
However, there are still 23 dogs that are waiting.
The adoption fee is only $50 until Sunday. The usual adoption fee for a dog in Toronto is $185 for a male dog and $215 for a female dog. It covers licensing, spray/neutering, vaccinations, and microchip.
Short biographies of the dogs, as well as photos, are available on the TAS website.
