Bruce Power is making a donation to the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce to help with homelessness response.
The power company is giving $16,500 to help the YMCA help find shelter for those in need.
From October until the end of 2024, the YMCA provided 1,255 individual nights of shelter, partnering with Bruce County to help more than 50 families and individuals find stable housing.
Bruce Power says that they’re committed to working with the YMCA in providing vital assistance to those facing homelessness or are facing precarious housing situations.
The Homelessness Response Program often operates at full capacity, and the donation will help to provide support in key areas.
John Peevers, Bruce Power’s Director of Community, Media Relations, and Economic Development says that the company believes that by working together, they can help make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families facing homelessness in Bruce County.
