Bruce County is advising drivers to stay off the closed roads.
The county says as a result of the winter storm event, all county-managed roadways are closed.
While road crews are out working to clear local roads, stranded and abandoned vehicles are making the progress difficult, and they could be towed and fined as they can pose a danger to emergency services and plows.
“During the road closures, local municipalities and emergency services have access to Bruce County’s emergency on-call line that activates the roads crews to assist with emergencies. In an extreme winter storm, clearing roadways for emergency first responders like ambulances and fire trucks is the top priority,” says the county in a release.
The hazardous weather conditions are expected to continue throughout the day and into early Wednesday.
